VSA - Victoria School Association

Welcome back, or just welcome to new parents!

I did briefly introduce our new VSA team last year, but in case anyone missed it I am your new Chair Sam Rees.  We also have Lisa Greenfield and Josie Drath as joint Secretaries and last but not least our Treasurer Kirsty Suggett.

For those new parents the VSA is the parent teacher school association. We aim to raise vital funds for the school to buy new equipment, technology and learning materials for our children, essentially adding further funds to any budgets which the school already receives.  Previous VSA teams have done a great job and have been able to buy electronic white boards, playground equipment, book subscriptions etc.

So, parents old and new, I can hear you asking yourselves how can we contact this band of fabulous people? Well there are a number of ways:

  •  Email us on
  •  Come to one of the monthly committee meetings
  •  Join our Facebook page (How did I not know this existed?!) - Search Friends of the VSA and then just join
  •  You could come to one of the monthly committee meetings!!
  •  You may speak to any of us in person (Me, Josie and Lisa at Year 2 or Reception drop offs/pick-ups and Kirsty at Year 1 and Reception)

Finally, in case you had not realised there are monthly committee meetings!  These will be the third Tuesday of every month.

In all seriousness, we can only make this work with lots of volunteers and helpers.  No matter how much or how little time you can give it all helps.  It is a good way to meet other parents, I am told it is fun, and at the very least you will have a genuine reason to go to the pub once a month.

We are aiming to publicise a full list of events and dates for your diary in the coming weeks, until then we look forward to a great year.

About the VSA

The Victoria School Association is the PTA for Victoria School. We organise fundraising and social activities and raise money to help the children's education.

We're an active committee that meets regularly - and new members are always welcome. Whether you contribute ideas, give a couple of hours to help at a fundraiser, or have ambitions to put on your own event, please get in touch and talk to us. We're always happy to to hear from parents who want to get involved.

If you want to get in touch, either email us, search for the Facebook page 'Friends of the VSA', find us in the playground or drop a note into the VSA postbox.
