At Victoria we guide and nurture children to become successful, life-long writers. We provide exciting writing opportunities and experiences that engage and enhance all children through a book centred approach.
From the start, we ensure every child masters the skills of sentence structure, developing this further through understanding the use of punctuation, transcription, spelling and redrafting so that they are able to communicate effectively through a range of text types. We develop a curiosity surrounding vocabulary and language where pupils develop a sophisticated bank of vocabulary that they can draw upon both within writing and conversation. Children understand the power of the written word and the impact that writing can have upon others through exposure to a range of genres.
