Notices and Reminders
Welcome back to the summer term. This has always been my favourite term with the warmer days, spending more time outside and seeing how much the children have grown and flourished since September.
There are so many wonderful things happening over the coming months from an author visit with Julia Jarman to Sports Day. Please check out the school calendar for all the latest dates.
Reception Wow Day
Reception had a visit to the seaside when History off the Page came to Victoria. The children spent the morning making different souvenirs and in the afternoon took the train to the seaside where they had their fortunes told, played penny games and visited the seaside cafe, even the sun managed to come out to make the day complete.
Strike Days
The NEU has announced further strike dates for the summer term which are Thursday 27 April and Tuesday 2 May. As with the previous strikes, the school website and twitter page will be updated on the day by 7.30am if any classes will be affected.
School Value for this half term- Service
Over the next six weeks the children are going to be focusing on the value of service, especially giving to others and their community. If your child is involved in any charity events or supporting the community, no matter how small, we would love to hear about it.
Class Photos Friday 28 April
All children will be having their photo taken together as a class on Friday 28 April. We are hoping the weather will be fine that day as we would like to take the photos outside. The photos are being taken by Mrs Tinsley who did the reindeer photos. Details of how to view/purchase your child's class photo will be sent after the 28 April.
Year 2 SATS
Year 2 will be completing their KS1 SATS during May. They are taken in a familiar environment, in smaller groups if needed and they are one part of the teacher assessment process. For further information, this useful video 2020 Key Stage 1 tests - YouTube explains and gives examples of what the tests look like and how to help your child. As the Grammar test is optional, teachers may decide to only administer this if further evidence is needed for writing assessments. We are required to administer all SATS by Friday 26 May, if your child is absent when the class do any of the SAT papers, the teacher will ensure your child completes it before this deadline.
