Miss Ali Bocas
Miss Ali Bocas after working at Victoria for over 8 years will be sadly leaving us on Friday 26 May. She will be greatly missed, especially her brilliant talent for art and inspiring the children (and adults) in developing their inner artist, through art lessons and projects. She has been a big part of the Victoria family for so many years and we wish her all the best in her new ventures.
Skip to Be Fit- Wednesday 24 May
Due to the success of the skipping workshops in the past we have organised skipping sessions for all classes. To ensure the children have as much time as possible skipping, can all children come in PE kits that day. Teachers will send kits home the day before. At the end of school day on Prince Edward Street entrance playground, there will be a chance to buy one of the skipping ropes for your child. Click here Skip2BFit for more information.
Parent Survey
Thank you to everyone who completed the parent survey. It was very positive to see that 97% agreed ‘my child is happy at school’ and 97% agreed ‘my child feels safe at school’. With all surveys there are always areas for improvement, these include ‘the school makes me aware of what my child learn during the year’ with 73% agreeing and ‘the school lets me know how my child is doing’ with 80% agreeing.
We are currently updating our curriculum and will be putting on our website summaries from each year group of what they will be learning each term. There will also be long term overviews for each subject for you to see what your child will be learning over the year. Once the website is updated, we will direct you to the new sections.
School Council Charity
The School Council have been discussing a new school charity, they fed back that the classes wanted to have a charity that helped animals and children. They also wanted to help a local charity as we have raised money for national charities but not one near to school. The staff went away and found some charities then the School Council picked one. They decided on Fields of Dreams in Mentmore which re-homes and rehabilitates a wide range of animals and provide animal- assisted therapy for children with SEND and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health). Watch this space for fundraising activities happening soon!

We have had several cases of headlice reported in school recently, please ensure you check your child's hair over the weekend and on a regular basis going forward.
