Notices and Reminders

Remembrance Day

Thank you for your donations to the Royal British Legion, we have nearly sold out of all the poppies! We have been learning about Remembrance Day in RE and we have been very impressed by the children's knowledge of the reasons behind 'Poppy Day'.

We've had lots of positive feedback on our poppy display in the back playground, it has been very educational for the children to learn about the different people and animals that have served for our armed forces and their important roles they have during war time.

Kindness Week - Important Dates

All next week children and staff will be taking part in acts of kindness. The children are going to work together to get gold stars for their class Kindness calendar. Other activities to celebrate this week include:

  • Odd Socks Day on Monday 14 November where children get to wear odd socks (school uniform to be worn) to remind us of how unique we all are. A voluntary £1 contribution will go to support the Anti Bullying Alliance
  • NSPCC Assembly on Tuesday 15 November promoting Speak out, Stay Safe. A separate letter will be sent with useful discussion topics and links to support
  • Children in Need on Friday 18 November where children can dress down for the day. A voluntary £1 donation will go to Children in Need

Governor Visit Week

Our governors have been in school this week, watching assemblies, visiting lessons, meeting teachers and children. We really value our governors and these visit weeks are an important part of their role, raising their profile and keeping them in touch with day to day school life.

Message from The Hope Food Bank

A HUGE thank you for donating your Harvest Festival items to The Hope Food Bank @ Kings Road Church. Please do pass on my grateful thanks to your pupils and their families for their incredible generosity in supporting those in food poverty across Berkhamsted.

Eight Berkhamsted Schools collaborated with us this year and we collected an incredible total of £3,249 worth of food!
