Welcome

It’s great to be back and looking forward to another exciting year at Victoria. What a strange year it has been so far for us all and especially the children. They missed out on many things, school events included and we as a committee have been discussing over the summer how we can continue to provide fun events within the new guidelines. Details of which will be shared at the next committee meeting.

Committee

For those that don’t know, we are the Victoria School Association (VSA), and we are a team of parents, teachers and volunteers who organise events and entertainment for the children and families of our school in order to raise important funding for the wider educational experience of all the children in the school. We have historically raised several thousand pounds each year which gets spent on equipment, experiences and entertainment for the children, like the Wild Wood Area to the side of the Reception classrooms.

Meetings

We meet about once a month (using video conferencing) to discuss events and ideas and it’s a great way to get to know other parents and carers, as well as doing something brilliant for the school. If you fancy getting involved, by joining the committee or just to learn more about the VSA, just get in touch with us via our email (vsa@victoria.herts.sch.uk) or join in one of our meetings. Everyone who signs up to join the committee is asked to confirm that they are happy for the VSA to retain their contact details on file for the duration of the academic year, to be used solely in connection with the purposes of our charity. Fundraising

There are a couple of ways that you can start the ball rolling with fundraising. You could sign up to the Supermarket Voucher Scheme to buy your groceries each month and help raise money for the school WITHOUT IT COSTING YOU A PENNY? That’s right! The supermarkets pay us a small percentage of the cost of your vouchers in return for your loyalty. So, if you shop at Tesco or Waitrose or some other stores simply fill in the form with the amount of vouchers you want each month, and start earning for the school! It couldn’t be easier. Look out for the new and improved form which will be emailed out next week.

Uniform

Another easy way to help out is to buy your second hand Victoria School uniform from the VSA. It is a fraction of the cost of new uniform, and ALL PROCEEDS GO BACK INTO THE SCHOOL as well as doing our bit for recycling, reusing and saving our planet! Simply get in contact with Elaine to let her know what items you need and she will be happy to help.
