Nursery Provision

Victoria Church of England Infant and Nursery School is delighted to welcome children to Foundation Stage 1 (Nursery).

By accepting a Nursery place for your child and committing to attendance of five consecutive mornings, the school is pleased to offer you the facility of extended Nursery provision.

The Nursery sessions operate as follows:

Morning Sessions - 8:30am-11:30am -  Free Provision (5 consecutive mornings - compulsory)

Lunch Club - 11:30am-12:30pm - £3.50 per child per day - optional  (packed lunch to be provided by parent)

Afternoon Sessions - 12:30pm-3:00pm - £17 per child per day - optional

After School Club - 3:00pm-6:00pm - £14.50 per child per day - optional (snack and drink provided by school)

The Nursery Lunch Club and afternoon sessions are run by our fully qualified Early Years Practitioner.  All Nursery sessions will take place in the Thomas Bourne Building.

Once an offer of a place at the nursery has been accepted, parents will be sent an application pack on which they detail their session requirements, including any interest in After School Club.  Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.  Ad Hoc bookings are bookable subject to availability.

30 Hours Free Childcare

At Victoria School, all children are expected to attend every morning until 11:30am (this is the 15 hours entitlement).  Those parents/carers who are entitled to 30 hours free childcare and require all day, every day or specific days will be accommodated.  Please note, however, that these sessions can only be changed termly.

30 hours free childcare equates to the following:

Every morning until 11:30am, four days until 3:00pm and one day until midday.  If you wish you child to stay until 3:00pm for five days, one afternoon would need to be paid for privately.

To qualify for 30 hours free childcare you, and any partner, must each expect to earn (on average) at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage).  If you, or your partner, are on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or you're unable to work because you are disabled or having caring responsibilities, you could still be eligible.  You cannot get 30 hours free childcare if either you or your partner each individually expect to earn £100,000 or more.

The government website Childcare Choices www.childcarechoices.gov.uk allows parents to sign up and check their eligibility for the scheme.
