30 Hours Free Childcare
At Victoria School, all children are expected to attend every morning until 11:30am (this is the 15 hours entitlement). Those parents/carers who are entitled to 30 hours free childcare and require all day, every day or specific days will be accommodated. Please note, however, that these sessions can only be changed termly.
30 hours free childcare equates to the following:
Every morning until 11:30am, four days until 3:00pm and one day until midday. If you wish you child to stay until 3:00pm for five days, one afternoon would need to be paid for privately.
To qualify for 30 hours free childcare you, and any partner, must each expect to earn (on average) at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage). If you, or your partner, are on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or you're unable to work because you are disabled or having caring responsibilities, you could still be eligible. You cannot get 30 hours free childcare if either you or your partner each individually expect to earn £100,000 or more.
The government website Childcare Choices www.childcarechoices.gov.uk allows parents to sign up and check their eligibility for the scheme.
