 Survey Update

Thank you to all our families who completed our ASC survey last term. It was lovely to read all the positive comments, which I have passed onto the team.  There were also some great suggestions and feedback.

We actioned…

Struggling with the toilet for younger children

·         Designated staff working with the younger children.

·         Toilet training seat and step to help with the larger toilets.

Food choices

·         We are reviewing the menu after half term to look at the choices and                which food is served on which day.

·         Food is cooked by a Herts Catering member of staff, following the                    guidance from Herts catering.

Variety of structured activities and staff engagement

·         Purchased new resources for ASC including a range of arts and crafts.

·         Asked ASC staff about interests and skills to see which activities they                can run during ASC.

·         Sorted out all the resources and threw away items that were broken or            had missing parts.

·         Organised resources so easier to find different activities, to ensure                    variety.

·         Clear expectations given to ASC staff at the start of term around                      engaging interactions with children.

Consistency with behaviour

·         Meet with all the ASC staff and went over behaviour expectations,                      behaviour policy and Golden Rules to ensure consistency.

·         ASC manager to contact parents during ASC if there has been an                      incident so messages are not passed on at the gate.

·         Medical Tracker coming soon to ensure messages about illness and                  injuries are sent directly to parents via the online email alerts.

Time waiting at the gate

·         Extra cloakroom space created for Nursery children to help find                        belongings quicker.

·         ASC staff keeping cloakroom areas tidy so children can get things                    quickly.

·         Children gather up their belongings ready to go home, when getting                  nearer to the end of the session.

·         We are looking into costs for a quicker process for signing out.

ASC Manager
As ASC is very popular with families and the numbers have become bigger, we wanted to have someone who could oversee the day to day running of the club.  Paula Foran was recruited as ASC manager in July. She organises the staff, resources and is the first point of contact if you want to discuss anything about ASC.  To get in touch with Paula, email admin@victoria.herts.sch.uk or if it is a quick message ask for her at pick up.  Paula is at ASC every day.
Fond Farewells
We were sad to say goodbye to Yasmin and Bradley last term. Yasmin got the grades she needed to go onto her university of choice and Bradley is concentrating on his studies in his final year at college. We wish them all the best.
