Big Green Week Round-up

This week we have been focusing on our Great Big Green week, where we started the week wearing green to support looking after our environment and local area.  We were hoping to go on our litter pick on Wednesday but the weather had other ideas! We have postponed until the weather is a bit more settled.  On Friday we are going to have a power down in the afternoon, where classrooms will be turning off their devices and thinking about the little changes they can make to help the planet. We will also be sending sunflower seeds home with every child. As they grow, please take pictures and tag us on Instagram. We cannot wait to see them all!

This links into our value of thankfulness, as we are all thankful for the wonderful world we live in but we need to remember to take care of it.  With our continuing mission to be more sustainable, we hope all the little changes make a big difference.

Heads for the Day Message

Nellie: " This week we have been working on how we can help our environment and our Green Guardians had a show on Monday of how we can change our environment".

Luna: "This week we have learned how to save a lot of things, like turtles and the Earth. I feel like I really belong to Victoria school especially being the Head for the day."

Clean Air Day- Thursday 18 JuneClean Air Day 2026 - Southampton Schools & Education Settings | My Journey Southampton

We are getting involved with Clear Air Day to help children learn about the air around us and actions that could be taken to help make the air healthier.

We would like to encourage all our pupils to try and walk, cycle or scoot to school. If it is not possible to walk all the way, then it would be great if you could park 10 minutes away (park and stride) from school and walk or wheel the last part of your journey.

If you do drive to school, please do not to leave your cars idling or “ticking over”, especially near schools and even consider leaving the car at home at least once a week.

We appreciate all your support for a heathier future and if you want to get involved, click here for activities you can do at home.
